I get asked often if there is a simple stretch you can use that helps take tension from the spine. Although there may be some specific muscles you may need to target there is a stretch that limbers the entire spine.
Simple to do and only takes a few minutes. All you do is stand with arms out stretched and feet shoulder width apart. Then turn in one direction as far as you can, hold at the end of the stretch briefly and then turn in the opposite direction.
Keep doing this for a bout 2-3 minutes and you will loosen the entire spine. If you find this doesn’t help then you may need to use something more specific. But below is a video to demonstrate, although the image has arms bent which you can do too, also it is a bit faster than you should twist, but you get the idea.
