FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Below are just some questions that get asked about our clinic and our approach to your health concerns. As always, if your answer isn’t here please use our “Ask The Doctor” page for any direct questions you may have.
We see children and adults, with any health related issue they are concerned about. Although we specialise in helping those with digestive issues, we have helped many people over the years with all types of health problems.
Our focus is on a holistic approach to health care, which includes teaching clients techniques to use at home to help with the healing process. This not only save you our client time and money, it helps to increase the speed of recovery.
As part of this approach we have a free after hours service where you can call, text. Or email for advice, help and techniques whenever you need it.
We are a family-focussed clinic, and we have clients that now have children, that were initially seen as babies themselves. We want you to have long term health, not short term relief, which is why our approach of treating-teaching-educating is unique.
Although everyone is different, and some of you have chronic issues, others short term issues, however many see results happening from day one.
Results are dependent on doing the techniques we instruct you to do at home (which only take a few minutes), attending your scheduled treatment session and letting us know how you feel so we can adjust techniques as need be.
Most adults are seen 4-6 times over a 2 month period, we then encourage you to continue with care on a maintenance wellness program.
Children and babies usually require less treatment time, we do encourage parents to use the techniques we teach also. Health is a family journey and priority.
Our focus is on long term health and wellness. To understand this you need to look at a simple scenario.
When a fire alarm is triggered, we look for the fire. We don’t simply turn off the alarm. Also the alarm isn’t triggered as soon as a match is struck. It takes time for the smoke and flames to build.
The same applies to your health. Problems may be felt today, but they have likely been building for a while.
With feeling better, the same applies. Symptoms can disappear but there are still the underlying issues to address, to make sure your health continues to build and you have long term results.
Health is an investment in your future, where your older years are filled with vitality, energy and wellbeing. A regular maintenance schedule which means a treatment inside the clinic every 2 months, plus following the long term techniques we teach you and life will continually get better and better.
Our goal is to support you in your health and wellbeing, you can call for free advice at any time, we are here to help you as much as we can.
Although we specialise in digestive and hormonal imbalances, we never turn away anyone we believe we can help.
With our unique blend of techniques and our self-healing approach to health, we regularly see clients presenting with a variety of health concerns – ibs and digestive issues, menopause and hormonal imbalances, stress related issues, fatigue, allergies whether food or inhalant allergies, aches and pains – and too many others to list.
We will always give an honest opinion on if we can help, if we can’t then we will help you find someone who can.
It is a unique blend of techniques, each with their focus on the natural laws of life. It uses muscle testing to find out where imbalances lie within the body, again the goal is to get to the underlying cause of your health concern, not merely chase away a few symptoms.
You can read more about the techniques and their background on our treatment web page.
I am a qualified Chiropractor and have been so since 1991, I have both a science degree from Canterbury University and my chiropractic degree from RMIT in Melbourne. The chiropractic degree is 5 years of very extensive study including anatomy, physiology, neurology, biochemistry along with diagnostic sciences and treatment modalities.
I have further qualifications in Applied Kinesiology, Homeopathy, am a Reiki Master, Tao Hands Practitioner and Light Practitioner.
It is through my studies of a variety of modalities that I found a unique blend of techniques that allows us to have great success at removing symptoms quickly, but mainly to get to those underlying issues, no matter what they may be.
Both are based on the concept of meridians, which are channels/rivers of energy running through the body. If blockages occur, then the meridian channel will not function as it it should, creating tension and dis-ease somewhere in the body.
Acupuncture uses needle to help remove those blockages. Acupressure uses the fingers to do the same. The big difference is that you can be taught simple Acupressure techniques to use at home, whereas sticking in needles would be impossible.
There are also many forms of Acupressure, I use a technique called Jin Shin Jyustu which is Japanese based, points are held with no pressure or discomfort, which again makes it easier to use especially as I treat children often too.
